Petaluma California Art
The following is part of a series of contributions to the history of petaluma art in the United States and Canada. Below are some of the newer entries in this series, as well as a brief description of some of them.
Several future exhibitions are also planned at the Petaluma Arts Center, which you can find here. The exhibition Black Artists in Art is on loan from Oakstop Gallery in Oakland and will include paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints, photographs, videos, audio, posters, books and more. This exhibition at the Petalsumas Arts Center will include interactive education and activism, with interviews with modern activists, including DeRay McKesson, 24 / 7 feeds on Twitter and Instagram.

Most of the work is contemporary, but Collins has a particular affinity for rockers like Carlos Santana, who painted guitar straps. A painting by an 11-year-old interpreting a work by Jackson Pollock that Collins has auctioned for $100 is particularly charming. The room consists of two large-format bronze and bronze plates, each divided into two sections: one for the artist's own work and the other for the works of other artists. Each medium is represented by a different artist, such as bronze, silver, copper, wood, glass, metal, acrylic and wood.
Curated by Freddy Hahne of Mill Valley, it features works by artists from the North Bay, including several from Marin. He has long been fascinated by farms and ranches in the Petaluma region, and his interest in art reflects this. He never bought anything online, but prefers art from local galleries and local artists like Robert Rauschenberg and David Hockney.

The festival itself is centred around issues relevant to the LGBTQ community, facilitating connections between artists and artists, increasing the visibility of important issues and stimulating discussion at the local level.
