Once known as the "egg capital of the world," it is hard to overlook what lies behind it. Built in 1904, the historic Carnegie Library is home to the Petaluma Historical Library and Museum, offering the ultimate "Petalumas crash course."
With just over a dozen tables, this intimate space is casual but stylish, and owner David Nolazco makes you feel like a VIP by personally serving guests. The spacious lobby of Hotel Petaluma features an imposing fireplace and an antique baby grand piano, which you can play. At Tall Toad Music in Petalsuma there is a live band with a variety of instruments, including a used guitar, acoustic and electric as well as an electric one. This outdoor dining area with outdoor terrace is open to the public at selected times and consists of a tasting of olive oil and small appetizers, combined with the latest wine releases, served by local food trucks and food truck vendors from local restaurants.
Drive from the unmanned kiosk to the parking lot, walk to the Adobe toilet, or choose the park that interests you and declare your interest in hiking, biking, camping, hiking or other outdoor activities. This possibility does not exist in Petaluma, except for a limited number of days in the year in the summer months.
This is not a walk, but a sightseeing adventure, so you should definitely hike at a brisk pace, especially if you are hiking with a group of friends, family or friends of your choice.

This group is meant to complement our long walks, which are closer to home in Sonoma County and the surrounding area. There are many great walks, and we belong to several groups, so all walks are moderate and dogs on a lead are allowed.
Forget about a few miles on a weekend hike and head to Petaluma for one of the many great hikes in Sonoma County. Forget about getting away from your weekend hikes and heading to Petalumas for some lovely walks in the area.
Do 4 miles in the morning before taking 5 for the Tuesday night hike, or do 4 + miles at Petalumas Community Center for a great evening of fitness and fun.
Other food trucks rotate in the evenings, including Gator Rustic Burgers, which serve burgers from cattle raised outside the Yellowstone area, Fig Rig, which is run by the famous girls, and Caribbean Spices, which are served filled with Haitian food. They also serve cocktails on tap, including Jamison Aged, which has been aged for 3 months and is guaranteed to give you a good night's sleep. If you want to add something special to your brew, they have a beer-and-shot menu that includes a variety of beers and shots from local breweries as well as some local craft beers from around the world.
Owner Kathleen Weber uses natural starters made from grapes from Petaluma ranches, such as a thick, spiced Bellwether ricotta and sweet and sour cream. Weber is a chef, so it depends on the toppings that are paired with the full meal. She also tops the toast with sliced organic bananas, roasted pecans and fresh herbs and spices.
Founded by Petaluma Seed Bank, the bank sells over 1,800 varieties of heirlooms and is one of the largest seed banks in the country.
This destination in the wine country is a relaxed weekend getaway, with a downtown full of cultural and historical legacies that are still there - evolving and as much history as you can shake a stick at. Petaluma is one of the beer capitals of the United States, and the Brewsters Beer Garden is a great place to sample the local craft beer scene as well as local and national brands. This local favorite, child and dog friendly eatery hosts a changing program of craft beers from local breweries and breweries around the world.
